Landscape
Landscape painting opens many doors to an understanding of the natural world.
An initial attraction to the picturesque develops into a need to unravel what we
are seeing, individual tree species, flora and fauna, seasonal cycles and how
the principle of dependence operates in nature. We also come to realise the
importance of science and the new dimension it introduces into our art. Most of
my landscapes are intended to be reflective and contain underlying questions
about human stewardship.
